How to bring customers to your site?

A lot of web businesses think they could just set up an online shop, sprinkle some products, and people would come and buy.
It’s not that simple.
Even though customer might find your site, and found what they are searching for, the tendency for them to buy is not there initially.
But there’s an easy way to capture their attention, and hence make them buy from your store. It’s easy. Just put up detailed information of the product. Put up more write up on the product. If you are a bad writer, hire one who could do the job. Now why can’t you just slap the picture, and put up the price, and expect people to buy?
First, customers normally browse the site to know more on the product they want to buy. They want more information. If they could find it at your store, the better. It shows you know your product well. In fact, this is the first barrier of trust for your customers to buy from you online. Which online store would I prefer? One that tells me more information, or the one with less? Definitely it’s the one if with more information.
Secondly, with more information and write up on your products, the better search engines are able to index your pages. The more words you have on the products, the better, because you don’t know what keywords customers will search to find what they wanted to buy. It just make sense to put up a paragraph or more, so that search engines have better memory of what your site offers.
So, just like you would trust a sales guy who knows intricately about the product he’s selling, so would online customers on a site, that provide them a wealth of information on what they wanted to buy.
