Email as a Trusted Communication Tool

sirim4email.jpgMy friend from a reputable hosting company told me a joke.

Foreign Customer (means NON-MALAYSIAN), if they have encountered any problems, first, they will check out the knowledgebase. If they cannot seem to locate what they are looking for, then they issue a support ticket or email to the support.

On the other hand, Malaysia Customer, they also email you for support. But just seconds after they email, they call you: “DID YOU GET MY EMAIL OR NOT? GOT ALREADY? GOOD.” , then they hang up satisfied knowing people already received his email.

See the problem here? Fellow Malaysian, learn how to trust email! Why the redundancy? Technologies suppose to make our life easier, and so we can focus on other stuff that really matters.

Also, for fellow Malaysia Corporation, please at least assign someone to reply to those genuine enquiries so that the poor Malaysian customers won’t think that their email always gone missing. Can’t you see why Malaysian “TAK PERCAYA” (don’t trust) email?

We’ve had once email 7 local companies to enquire for quotation and product info on booth setting, guess what, only 1 reply from them, and the one reply eventually got our business.

To do our part as responsible citizens, we answers all our genuine enquiries within 24 hours time (1 Business Day). :) And I’m on my way to SIRIM to propose them a new “certification” system which I then will propose to the government to make it mandatory for all the .com.my website.
