Paypal adds new currencies
PayPal very recently just announced payment support for 10 new currencies on top of existing 7 (US Dollars, Australian Dollars, Euros, Pounds Sterling, Canadian Dollars, Japanese Yen and Chinese RMB.)
Ok, is MYR (or normally known by Malaysian as RM) supported? Let’s take a look….
The new currencies are:
- Czech Koruna
- Danish Krone
- Hungarian Forint
- New Zealand Dollar
- Swiss Franc
- Hong Kong Dollar
- Singapore Dollar
- Swedish Krona
- Polish Zloty
- Norwegian Krone
OK, Singapore Dollar (SGD) is there, our so called tiny-red-dot neighbour country’s currency, but where is MYR??? Are we being “marginalised” by Paypal? I think we have to put off any hope until we can actually withdraw the money directly to local bank accounts first.
On top of that, PayPal also announced that residents in 48 new markets can now use PayPal in their local markets to send money online. These new markets include Indonesia, the Philippines, Croatia, Fiji, Vietnam and Jordan.
