Google Suffers Zero Down Time, period
Do you suffer any “downtime” of your web server lately? As website increasingly becoming more and more important to every businesses (esp true for e-commerce website involve in monetary transaction!), can you afford even a 1 minute downtime? Honestly, we can, since we don’t serve millions of users nor taking in thousands of dollars per second like those running online gambling. For most of the legit small business, you don’t need 100% uptime! Because 99.9999% is good enough 
But those serving millions of users eg the BiG 3 - GYM, (Google, Yahoo & MSN), they really cannot afford even a single second downtime.
