Google has launched its own browsers (after rumors for so so long…) - codename “Google Chrome” to party in the crowd of IE, Firefox, Opera & Safari.
So does it mean web designers need to cater for (yet) another browser compatibility when it comes to CSS, Javascript etc? We shall see!
It better be good. Let’s see what’s the genius of Google have to offer in a browsers this time soon. The google browser download should be available anytime from now.
Some Chrome’s Highlights
Includes a brand-new JavaScript virtual based Javascript compiler from a Danish group called V8.
Tabs wil go above the window, not below the address bar
Location bar will support auto-complete functions and suggests web pages you’ve previously visited (or those you haven’t)
There will be a privacy mode (geek terms - “Incognito” Window) that allows you to surf without saving any personal history. (interesting, wonder how google suppose to deliver us more relevant ad?)
Chrome will constantly download updated information about web sites with malicious codes
E-commerce would not be complete without FULFILLMENT - The most important process which get the merchandise Picked, Packed, and Shipped to the hands of your customers. If your customers is getting their orders shipped to them both “in time and in good condition” (manage expectation!), voila! You probably have just sealed a lifetime customer.
Mom, i got shipped to you (in 1 piece) !!!
He/She will be a happy client that will buy repeatedly (and more!) from you. He/She will even help spread the word (WOM is powerful) around on how superb your service is, and leave a testimonial on your stores or a 5-star rating (we now have customer rating feature on webShaper!) on your products that will help you earn the trust for new visitors coming to your online store so that they will buy without hesitate. All these will have a positive impact that will ignite the money loop that will grow your business further and beat the competition!
5-star-rating from your clients - worth dying for
Now you understand how important fulfillment is. No online merchants can afford to screw up, or letting your shipping company screw up. and that’s why it’s important to pick your shipping partner right from the start. When it comes to the world of shipping, there’s also the very famous Big 3, namely UPS, Fedex and DHL. Among them, UPS is the indisputable big brother (more than 100 years old) among them all. UPS is so big that, if today UPS decide to quit delivery services and join the airlines business competing with AirAsia in the “business of shipping people”, they will be the 3rd largest airline in the world.
Just imagine all these planes turned into passengers plane…
An UPS truck delivery driver makes sure the packages in his truck are organized (we wonder, do they check on parcel bomb too?)
Sleeping with the enemy, You gotta be kidding me!
Study the competition, let the figure blows you away!
UPS is best known for its superb IT infrastructure and value-added services delivered via software tools. And we are proud to annouce that - webShaper e-commerce now supports UPS Tracking, UPS Rates & Services, UPS Address Verification (US Address only) as well as Shipping Label (Airway Bills) Printing directly from orders management in webShaper e-commerce! We are the first company in Malaysia (very likely in ASEAN) that does this, for more details, take a look at UPS-Ready Shopping Cart.
Don’t miss out the nice cartoon clips by UPS below >
Hold on a second… before you leaving this post, another reason for you to sign up UPS service? Mamamiya… i’m sure they can easily double their account if every delivery employee look and dress like this!
But reality is always cruel
well… don’t lose the focus! Most important is your package get delivered in time and in good condition!

If you run a small business and operate an online store, sometimes don’t you just wish you could just engage with the prospects who dropped by at your website which would like to have an instant chat with you so you can give them the help they desire and close their sales right away?
For most of the small online store, you probably don’t have additional budget for a professional chat tool like this. But I guessed most of you do use MSN web Messenger or Yahoo Messenger (MSN now supports Yahoo ID too, vice versa).
So do you know that you can actually setup a MSN Chat on your Online Store Page? Just follow the simple steps below. All you need is a MSN ID and also basic knowledge of putting up HTML code on your existing web page.
Setup MSN web Chat on your Online Store Page
1) Logon to the URL below, sign in using your existing MSN messanger ID & Password.
2) Choose how you want to be seen on the web. You can allow anyone to see your status and send you messages. Or, you can limit access to certain websites.
3) Click on “Create HTML” on the left menu. You will reach a page where you can configure the Display Type (Either IM Window, Button or Icon), Size & Theme Color.
4) Once configure, just copy the HTML code generated for you at bottom page and paste it to your web page. As simple as that!

Microsoft needs this video to “pyscho” their sales that Windows Vista rocks? and steve ballmer said we don’t want Windows XP ?
We just bought a new dell laptop recently, we make a request for Windows XP PRO installation and Dell insider sales rep told us the machine “must ship” with windows vista (W T F ? hello, are you listening to the customers? ). If we want Windows XP bundled, the only choice is Dell Latitude Machines, hell… i might as well get an IBM X-61 then.
None of my friends (to be fair, mostly techies) has good things to say about Vista, coz it a hog on machine resources, it’s slow… very slow… i know they have nice interface, but again, aero interface is useless if it gets in the way of completing the tasks faster. My sister got a dell desktop at home and i’m suffering big time using vista (even with 2GB of ram) until i completely turn off they eye goodies then the thing starting to get “usable” again.
Heck, we are going to install ubuntu if necessary.
oh ya btw, if your co-worker is slacking, you can use effective “threat” below to keep things moving.
Imagine having your products details and pictures updated at one screen using ecommerce store control panel, and reflected on your live store without pressing “ALT-TAB”…
Imagine doing a full-screen, side-by-side analysis and comparison for your online store design VS your toughest competitor
Imagine able to have one screen focusing on your favorite email application or MSN, another screen watching Transformers you just downloaded from bittorrent…
It doesn’t just apply to desktop, If you are a “mobile” online merchants, then you can do similar setting up with your laptop too.
Heck, even bill gates works with 3 screens, so we are just one screen short compared to the world richest geek, not bad? If you are still not happy with just 2 screens, then you can try something below to beat bill gates.
How do you convert your document to a PDF file, assuming that you are not using your own PC for your work and you want it fast but the computer you are using it now doesn’t have any word processor nor adobe pdf creator software built-in?
It’s simple, just fire up any web browsers, send a blank email to pdf@koolwire.com with the document you wish to convert and it’s done within minutes. cool?
Indeed, it’s all about web2.0 productivity.
If you still prefer a desktop solution, look no further than the pretty neat Free PDF Plugin called PrimoPDF.
Too good to be true? This is not a joke or hoax, and we are not talking about the popular FREE AVG. CA is offering an enterprise grade Antivirus for home and home office (SOHO anyone?) use.
In the 90’s, CA (Computer Associate) used to be World 3rd Largest Software Company in terms of revenue just trailing behind Microsoft and Oracle. Most layman would never hear from them because their products and services are catered for large enterprises. But boy.. they do make tons of $$$.
Try it out, It’s really FREE for one year. But please don’t ask us why they do this, maybe they want to do some goodwill to the society after the highly publicized accounting scandal by its ex-CEO, Sanjay Kumar.
And best part about the CA Antivirus, it won’t slow down your system like Windows Live Care does.
If you have a blog, but there are only few posts on it, why have it at the first place??
Are there just no passionate employee in Microsoft Malaysia or they just put this up as a PR Stunt? Funny, they even wonder what to put up on their blog…. Gosh, does it mean that there’s absolutely no interesting thing they can talk about their work, their technologies and their life?
Talk is cheap, it cost nothing. Starting something new also relatively easy, getting the momentum going, and continue to grow strong is the toughest. So, if you don’t plan to upgrade your blog frequently with quality and useful stuffs which will benefit your readers or customers. My advice is - don’t start at all.
My dua-sen suggestion to Microsoft Malaysia? There’s tons of interesting these folk can talk about. How about?
- First of all, Oopss…. where’s your posting on Microsoft Malaysia Windows Vista Launching at Low Yat Plaza?? How can so-called Micro$oft Malaysia blog even miss this? Isn’t it one of the most important product launching ever for Microsoft?
- Tell us how you use Microsoft tools and technologies in improving your work. Please… no hard sell, readers are too smart to easily sense it. Genuine sharing will do a great deal.
- Tell us more about local software industry.
- Tell us what you think about MSC.
- Sharing some thoughts on OPT (Other People Technologies)?
- Show us the working culture of Microsoft and how is it different from other typical Malaysian company?
- Show us the casual and human side of Microsofties.
- Show us some web 2.0 style web services mash-up.
To make the blog successful, you really need a passionate geek that’s KBC (Hokkien Dialect-means like to mind other people business). If only do it for the sake of having it since everyone seems to have a blog, you will get mediocre content that produces mediocre results.
Why don’t you guys consult Robert Scoble, ex-microsoftie, this guy really know how to blog, probably Microsoft Malaysia want to grab him over in coming events to talk about tech blogging… hey, why not? I’ll be the first one who book the seat.
